I thought about the future, say 100 years from now, and if we’d view today’s technology with the same grainy warmth that we view Polaroids and vinyl records with. Then I threw it out further, to when the earth begins to take back the planet, mycelium begins to break down these objects that were never designed with a plan for how they return to the earth. This thought experiment lightened my existential burden. That’s why I called this self-help podcast, its a longing for a time when the earth can fully self-soothe. Long after we’ve lived out our full existence as a species, and the earth gets to reset and begin another cycle of life. Sounds a bit grim, don’t it? But it’s what works for my brain, and makes me want to be alive and create and love and learn.
