DESIGN PROBLEM:
I currently work as a packaging designer for a natural gemstone Jewelry Brand in San Diego, CA. There are multiple purchasing experiences customers of the brand may encounter… department store, online, wholesale etc. Each of these experiences needs considered packaging that adapts to the needs of the customer while promoting different aspects of the same overall brand identity.
DESIGN SOLUTION:
Respond to client needs while reinforcing brand identity across different solutions, target audiences, and demands of the product. In addition to creating and managing these design systems, attempt to increase sustainability and streamline the logistical process of ordering product with its various packaging options.

STANDING BOX
A department store client has asked for a standing box for tabletop displays.. The box should have a small footprint to maximize product on shelf and be able to stand freely. There are not shopping attendants at these locations, so the packaging must be able to transport product safely to store, and be able to display product openly once in-store.

FEEDBACK:
Box design is potentially not stable enough. Client would prefer to prioritize maximizing CBM to reduce shipping cost, can reduce box height as well to not block product behind it.

REFINING:
Using collaborative online documents like Adobe’s shareable documents I am able to solicit specific feedback from team members and clients alike, quickly addressing any notes noticed when reviewing initial samples from the factory.

My time as a packaging designer has allowed me to design hundreds of solutions like this for different product and client needs. I love design that translates into 3-dimensional objects and packaging design scratches that creative itch for me.
